Monitoring of grease lubricated bearings – based on grease-analysis!

Greases differ widely from oils, not only in their chemical composition.  They "work" differently. Starting with their flow properties, the transport to the lubrication point, the grease distribution in the bearing and last bot not least the re-lubrication. All this has consequences for the monitoring of greases and bearings via grease-analysis.

Considering these specificities, you can monitor grease lubricated bearings just like oil lubricated machine elements with the help of periodic oil analysis. This is an advantage especially where you cannot use traditional methods of bearing monitoring.

Based on our competence from more than 100.000 grease-analyses – operated by our partner OELCHECK – we will show you in 2 Online-Training modules how to use grease-analyses for your success.

Practical examples complete the Online-Training, ranging from the sampling, the consideration of important technical parameters to the evaluation of the analysis results.

  • Lubricating greases – in contrast to lubrication oils and the consequences
  • Correct sampling – extremely important
  • Analysis methods – What they really mean
  • Examples
  • Tribo-Check of grease lubricated rolling-bearings in wind turbines
  • Rotor-, blade- and generator-bearings: Test scope, thresholds and interpretation
  • Practical examples
  • Outlook: Explanation of further testing methods
