The most important facts in brief:

Measured against the total costs of a machine, the costs for lubricants are often in the low single-digit percentage range or even lower. What’s more, lubricants usually work behind the scenes and are therefore not in the daily focus of the machine operator. In the minds of many people, lubricants still have the status of being just an auxiliary material that is not so important. The consequences of inefficient, inadequate or even incorrect lubrication are particularly fatal for modern, high-performance machines. The follow-up or even downtime costs usually exceed the price of the lubricant itself many times over.

In a total of three one-hour modules, the online training series explains how lubrication works in principle, how to better understand technical data sheets for lubricants and when and why mineral oils are increasingly being replaced by synthetic oils.
