CLS exam – Certified Lubrication Specialist

Voluntary certification for specialists in lubrication technology

After completing the CLS certificate course, you have the opportunity to take the official CLS exam (Certified Lubrication Specialist) of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE). Participation is voluntary, but highly recommended for all those who wish to officially demonstrate their expertise in the field of tribology and lubricant management.

Registration for the CLS exam

To take the CLS certification examination, you must register directly with the STLE at least two weeks before the desired examination date. Registration takes place independently via the STLE online portal.

Flexible: online examination with certified supervision

Since 2021, the STLE has offered the option of taking the CLS exam online and from any location – whether in your home office, office or in a quiet room with a stable internet connection. Prerequisites are:

  • Laptop or tablet with webcam and headset
  • Secure Internet connection
  • Quiet, undisturbed environment

The check is carried out via the STLE platform Webassessor. There you can choose your individual preferred date. A certified examiner accompanies the multiple-choice exam via live webcam monitoring. You will receive the examination result immediately afterwards.

We recommend scheduling the CLS exam date immediately after the CLS certificate course. We will also be happy to provide you with a suitable room in the OilDoc Academy – just contact us!
