The latest MARPOL regulations in this area have led to a trend towards the use of gas-powered marine engines. These are operated either completely with gas, as a dual-fuel or as an ignition jet engine with pre-injection. In the area of 2-stroke engines, the reciprocal influences of system oils and cylinder oils are discussed and the trend towards gas engines is described in more detail for 4-stroke engines. Real-life examples are included during the online training to ensure a transfer into practice.
