The most important facts in brief:

Water is by far the most common form of liquid contamination of lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids and other functional fluids. The same applies to the entry of air in the area of gaseous contamination. Both phenomena are often underestimated or overestimated in practice. Both lead to unnecessary measures and the resulting increased costs.

Applications, machines and oil types react differently to air and water ingress. A generalised treatment of the topic is therefore not very helpful. The training series deals systematically and application-specifically with the causes and consequences of increased water and air ingress and provides practical tips for recognising and eliminating these as early as possible. The practical examples integrated into each module round off the training series and ensure a high level of practical relevance

Module 1: Water in oil: "Normal" or "Public Enemy No. 1"
  • Causes of moisture and water in the oil
  • Dissolved and free water
  • Consequences of increased water content
  • Determination methods
  • Application and oil-related limit values
  • Examples
Module 2: Air in the oil: no bubbles, no problem?
  • Causes of air in the oil
  • Dissolved and undissolved air
  • Consequences of an increased air content
  • Air separation capacity
  • Determination methods
  • Interpretation
  • Application and oil-related limit values
  • Entry of other gases
  • Examples
Module 3: Foaming: A question of the purity law?
  • Causes and influencing factors of foam
  • Surface foam and oil-air dispersion
  • Consequences of increased foam formation
  • Determination methods
  • Interpretation
  • Application and oil-related limit values
  • Examples
