Bio-hydraulic fluids have been in use for more than 20 years and have found a permanent place in the portfolio of almost all mineral oil companies. To date, however, there are still uncertainties regarding their use, particularly among users, which are mainly reflected in 2 issues:

1. When is a hydraulic fluid ‘organic’ according to the law?
2. what is the performance of organic hydraulic fluids?

These two topics are each covered in a one-hour online training course.

Module 1: What is "organic"?
  • Basic requirements according to DIN EN 16807 and ISO 15380
  • Biodegradability: complete or primary
  • Bio-based: focus on renewable raw materials
  • Requirements according to “EU-Eco-Label” and “Blue Angel”
Module 2: Properties and performance of bio-hydraulic fluids
  • Basic categorisation of types according to ISO 15380 (HETG, HEES, HEPG, HEPR)
  • Comparison of the minimum technical requirements with DIN 51524, parts 2 and 3
  • Fundamental differences: advantages and disadvantages compared to mineral oils
  • Monitoring of bio-hydraulic fluids
  • Performance in a practical test: examples from many years of oil monitoring
