Hydraulic oils are first and foremost power transmission fluids, and secondly lubricants. Particularly with very dynamic power transmission, but also at very high piston speeds, the hydraulic oil is exposed to much higher thermal stresses. The minimum requirements for hydraulic oils defined in the DIN or ISO standards, e.g. for HLP or HM types, do not or only insufficiently take into account the very special conditions.
